Invitation for contribution to COWCLIP Phase 2

The Coordinated Ocean Wave Climate Project (COWCLIP), supported by JCOMM and WCRP, aims to generate wave climate projections (ultimately of global extent) and aid comprehensive assessments of their cascading uncertainty. Based on the discussion at the first COWCLIP workshop in Geneva (April, 2011; http://www.jcomm.info/COWCLIP1), the inter-comparison of the first community ensemble of global wave climate projections (COWCLIP Phase 1) is now completed and the results are available online.

The wave community is now invited to contribute to the COWCLIP Phase 2 intercomparison study (ongoing until November 2013): It aims to quantify the source of variance between available studies, through a more designed approach using CMIP5 derived datasets.

Please find further information at project http://www.jcomm.info/COWCLIP.
